Rodman 1250 Fishing in La Gomera
We were delighted to hear from Mr Keggie, owner of this Rodman 1250 'Oberon of Yell' after his first full season's fishing in La Gomera, Canary Islands. John took the boat over 2000 miles by sea from Cullivo in Shetland, to San Sebastian in La Gomera, stopping in at RBS Marine for a fit out en route. The fit out included new outriggers, bespoke stainless steel hard top, new electronics and synthetic teak decking.
John said: "I had no concerns about the boat after her fit out and service at RBS Marine, the boat handled all the mixed conditions on the journey with a lot to spare and by trimming back the engine speed to 17 knots on the last leg from Agadir to Lanzarote over 240 miles, we still had over 200 litres in the tank."
The picture above shows the boat in St Peter Port, Guernsey, during the journey, and below, the first Yellow Fin Tuna caught aboard, and a 45lb Dorada!
