Plenty of space for leisure cruising

Description

The Rodman 1250 needs no introduction, it has been the mainstay of those who enjoy sports fishing and comfortable cruising across Europe and the UK for over 20 years. The distinctive flared hull gives the boat exemplary seakeeping abilities, and in fact the hulls itself is so good, Rodman have taken the hull forward to their new 1290 Evolution, the eventual successor of the 1250.

The 1250 has exceptional outside space, huge cockpit and walk around side decks with gunnels almost up to your waist. Inside, a spacious and simple saloon with plenty of storage, and a user friendly galley space on the lower deck. The forward cabin features a double island berth, and a guest cabin to starboard has twin single berths. The heads compartment is a comfortable size with a seperate shower compartment, toilet and wash basin.

With the 1250 being in production over 20 years, there were of course some changes in that time - the earlier models had three seperate screens, and were usually powered by Volvo TAMD 63 (370hp) or 74 (430hp) engines. From 2005 the boats had a single piece windscreen and were fitted with the newer generation Volvo D6 engines. IPS became an option from 2006 and Rodman actually had a different hull and deck moulding to accommodate the IPS drives. There have been various other amendments over the years, including the removal of the step to the side deck, improved engine access, different locker sizes, amended saloon layout and changes in the profile of the aft windows.

We've seen Rodman 1250's accomplish wonderful voyages, including 'Sea Sea' who travelled all the way to the icebergs of Greenland under her own steam, and 'Keep it Reel' who sailed from the Highlands of Scotland to start a new life as a game fishing boat in the Canary Islands. A 1250 was commissioned as a rescue boat for South Africa. They've been charter fishing boats, supplied wind farms, and safely looked after family and friends on many enjoyable days on the water.

Rodman 1250's were nearly all flybridge models, with just two hard tops being produced;l the South African rescue boat in the early 2000's and another recreational/charter boat in 2012.

The Rodman 1250 needs no introduction... a sport fishing legend
